GTA 6 Characters: Lucia, Jason and the Cast

Two playable leads and a supporting cast Rockstar introduced one name at a time. Everything below comes from the trailers, the gameplay video and Rockstar's own character pages, with the gaps left visible instead of filled in.

Story details still under wraps

Supporting characters from the trailers

Names Rockstar has published
Jason's friend Cal Hampton Spends most of his life online and is convinced someone is watching him.
Businessman Boobie Ike Made his money the hard way and now puts it into a recording studio and other ventures.
Music producer Dre'Quan Priest Building a label around a rap duo and looking for a way up.
Rap duo Real Dimez Roxy and Bae-Bae, whose profile is growing faster than their bank balance.
Bank robber Raul Bautista Runs crews on jobs that need more people than sense.
Old-school smuggler Brian Heder A drug runner from another era, still working out of the Keys.

Rockstar introduced these names on its own site and in the trailers. How large a part any of them plays in the story has not been described.

Who you play as in GTA 6

Grand Theft Auto VI puts two people at the centre of it: Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Both are playable. That is the structural change from GTA 5, which had three protagonists you swapped between at will, and from every GTA before it, which had one. Rockstar has been unusually quiet about how the pairing works mechanically, and after three videos we still know the characters better than the systems around them.

Lucia Caminos

Lucia is the first face the series showed for this game. Trailer 1 opens on her leaving a prison in Leonida, and the tone of the whole reveal follows from that shot: tired, funny, unsentimental. She is the first woman Rockstar has built a modern Grand Theft Auto around, which is why her name pulls more searches than the game's own release date on some days.

Beyond that, the details are thin on purpose. Her family, her record, how she ended up inside, what she wants out of Vice City: none of it has been laid out. Trailer 2 shows her and Jason working together, which tells you the relationship is the spine of the story, not a side plot.

Jason Duval

Jason was in Trailer 1 but only got a name in Trailer 2. He lives in the Leonida Keys, takes jobs that pay badly and go wrong, and reads as the steadier half of the pair. Rockstar has described a life shaped by other people's businesses rather than his own ambition, which is a familiar setup for the series and usually the point where things stop being manageable.

Lucia and Jason together

The two of them are presented as a couple on the run, and the marketing has leaned on a Bonnie and Clyde reading without ever using the phrase. What has not been explained is what that means when you hold a controller.

  • Switching. Whether you swap between them freely, the way GTA 5 handled its three leads, or only at fixed points, has not been announced.
  • Split missions. Nothing has been said about missions built for one character rather than the other.
  • Endings. Rockstar has not discussed choice, branching or how the story closes.

The 27-minute gameplay video from August 2026 showed more of Leonida than of the story, and it did not settle any of the three questions above. It is still the best look at how the pair move through the world, and it sits with everything else on our trailers page.

The supporting cast

Rockstar published short introductions for a group of characters around the two leads: Jason's friend Cal Hampton, the businessman Boobie Ike, the producer Dre'Quan Priest, the rap duo Real Dimez, the robbery crew leader Raul Bautista and the veteran smuggler Brian Heder. Each got a portrait and a couple of sentences, which is the level of detail Rockstar usually keeps until launch.

What none of those bios say is how big any role is. In previous games, characters with similar introductions turned out to be anything from a mission giver to a permanent fixture, so ranking them now would be invention.

Voice actors and story length

Two questions with the same answer. Rockstar has not published a cast list for GTA 6, and it has never announced how long the story takes to finish. Performer names for the leads have circulated through press reporting and industry credits, which is worth something but is not a Rockstar announcement, and hour counts for the campaign are people extrapolating from GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Character customisation is in the same box: nothing announced. The game is a story about two specific people, which historically has meant fixed protagonists, but Rockstar has not said so about this one.

What we will update, and when

This page tracks what Rockstar says, not what fans piece together from frame-by-frame trailer analysis. When a cast list, a character switching system or a story length is announced, it lands here and on our news page the same day. Until then, the honest version of the GTA 6 cast is two leads, six supporting names and a lot of deliberate silence, with the release set for November 19, 2026.

GTA 6 characters FAQ

Quick answers

Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Both are playable, and the game is built around the pair of them rather than a single lead.

Lucia Caminos is one of the two protagonists and the character who opens Trailer 1, walking out of a prison in Leonida. Rockstar has kept most of her backstory out of the trailers.

She is the first woman Rockstar has built a modern Grand Theft Auto around. The older top-down games let you pick a character sprite, which is a different thing entirely.

Jason Duval is the second playable protagonist, living in the Leonida Keys and moving between jobs that keep turning into problems. He was named in Trailer 2.

Rockstar has not explained how switching works, or whether it works like GTA 5 at all. Both characters are playable, and that is the extent of what has been said.

Rockstar has not published a cast list for GTA 6. Names circulating for the two leads come from press reporting and performer credits rather than an official announcement.

Not announced. Rockstar does not publish story lengths before release, so any hour count you see is a guess based on earlier games.
