How many days until GTA 6 comes out
There are about 73 days between today and the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, or roughly 10 weeks. The number in the counter is written into the page by the server before any script runs, then a small script keeps it moving second by second while the tab is open. Refreshing is never required and closing the tab breaks nothing.
The target is fixed: November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. It is one date for every region rather than a staggered rollout, and both editions, Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99, unlock on it. The full breakdown of what each console gets is on the platforms page.

This table shows when the calendar date November 19 begins in each city, not when the download unlocks. Rockstar has not published an unlock time for any store or region.
What happens on launch day
Four things worth knowing
The date flips first in the PacificNovember 19 starts in New Zealand and Australia before it starts anywhere else. Rockstar has said the game arrives worldwide on that date, but it has not published a clock time for the download to unlock.
Your store does the workThe game is digital on both consoles. A pre-order means the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store handles the download for you rather than you racing to a shop that has no disc to sell.
Storage is the real deadlineRockstar has never announced the install size, so the figures you see quoted are community estimates. Free the space in advance instead of during launch night.
One version per consolePS5 and PS5 Pro get the same build, Series X and Series S get the same build. No performance modes or frame rates have been announced for any of them.
The GTA 6 pre-order countdown
There are two clocks running, and only one of them is the release. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 after Rockstar announced them a week earlier, and the Standard Edition carries a pre-order bonus, the Vintage Vice City Pack, for orders placed before November 20. That deadline is the second clock, and it is the only one where waiting costs you something concrete.
A pre-order buys three things: the price locked in, the download queued in advance, and on the PlayStation Store a month of GTA+ attached to the order. It does not buy early access, because no early access programme has been announced for GTA 6. Anyone selling you a head start is selling a story. Both editions and both stores are covered in the pre-order guide, and the money side sits on the price page.
How to read this countdown
A countdown is only as honest as the date under it, so here is the state of that date. November 19, 2026 is the third one GTA 6 has had. Trailer 1 arrived on December 4, 2023 with a plain 2025 on the end of it. That became May 26, 2026, and then the current November date. Rockstar has never used the word final about it, and neither will we.
What has changed since the earlier slips is how much is now committed publicly. Store pages are live on PlayStation and Xbox, money has been taken, prices are printed, and a 26 minute video called An Extended Look went out on August 27, 2026. None of that guarantees anything, but it is a very different position from a trailer with a year on it. The full sequence, with the reasons Rockstar gave, is on the delay history page.
Confirmed: the date, the four consoles, the two prices, the digital only format, the open pre-orders.
Not announced: the unlock hour, the install size, performance modes, an online mode, a PC version.
Not promised: that November 19 is immovable. Two dates have already moved.
If you play on a computer, the counter above is not your date. A PC release has not been announced and has no window at all, which is the whole subject of the GTA 6 PC page. Short answers to the rest of the common questions live in the answers section.

Quick answers
Grand Theft Auto VI is out on November 19, 2026, which is about 73 days from today. The counter at the top of this page is the exact figure, and it runs on your own device clock.
About 10 weeks. The exact figure moves every day, so treat the live counter as the number and this line as the rough version.
Rockstar has not announced an unlock time for any region. The only official commitment is the date, November 19, 2026, worldwide. Any specific hour you see quoted is a guess.
The target moment is the same, the local clock is not. November 19 begins in New Zealand hours before it begins in California, which is why the table on this page lists the same day across nine time zones.
No. Pre-ordering pre-loads and pays for the game, it does not move you ahead of the release date. No early access programme has been announced.
It has changed twice already, from 2025 to May 26, 2026 and then to November 19, 2026. Rockstar has not called the current date final, so a third move cannot be ruled out. If it happens, this counter follows the new date.
