Where to pre-order GTA 6

Official stores only
PS5 and PS5 Pro PlayStation Store The official concept page for Grand Theft Auto VI. Both editions, regional pricing, and a month of GTA+ attached to the pre-order. Open the PS Store page
Xbox Series X and Series S Xbox Store Same two editions, same release day. Search for Grand Theft Auto VI inside your console store or on xbox.com while signed in.

How to pre-order GTA 6 without getting burned

Pre-ordering Grand Theft Auto VI takes about a minute, and almost every mistake people make happens outside the two stores that actually sell it. Rockstar opened orders on June 25, 2026, a week after announcing them in the Newswire, and they have stayed open since. Two editions, two prices, one release day.

The only two places that sell it

GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store are the entire list. Sign in with the account you actually play on, open the game page, pick your edition and pay. If your console is a PS5 Pro, you are still buying the same PS5 version.

Key codes on marketplaces are the classic way to lose money here. Because the game has no disc and no boxed copy, there is nothing legitimate to resell in a shrink-wrapped package, and a discounted code from an unfamiliar seller is a risk you take on your own account. A PC pre-order is a bigger red flag still: there is no PC version to pre-order, as explained on our GTA 6 PC page.

What the Vintage Vice City Pack is

The pre-order bonus for the Standard Edition is the Vintage Vice City Pack, and the condition is a deadline: order by November 20 and it comes with the game. Buyers of the Ultimate Edition get it as part of the bigger bundle. Rockstar has not published a full inventory of what is inside, so treat any detailed item list you find as fan speculation until the game unlocks.

On the PlayStation side, pre-orders also carry a month of GTA+. That is a subscription add-on tied to the store rather than an in-game item.

Ultimate Edition or Standard Edition

The Ultimate Edition costs $20 more and adds digital extras. The decision is smaller than the search volume suggests, because the story, the map and every mission are identical in both.

  • Standard, $79.99. The game plus the pre-order bonus. The right pick if extras are not why you play.
  • Ultimate, $99.99. The game plus the bundled digital content. Open the store page and read the item list first, since bonus content is exactly the part that varies by store and region.
  • No upgrade promise. Rockstar has not said you can move from Standard to Ultimate later. Decide once and stop thinking about it.

Full pricing detail, including how $79.99 compares with what earlier Grand Theft Auto games cost at launch, is on the GTA 6 price page.

Cancelling, refunds and payment timing

Refund rules for a pre-order come from Sony and Microsoft, not from Rockstar, and each store spells out its own terms next to the checkout button. Both platforms have long allowed pre-orders to be cancelled before a game unlocks, but the wording changes over time and by region, so read the terms on the page you are buying from instead of a forum post from two years ago.

One practical note: money is normally taken at or shortly before release rather than the moment you click, and the download becomes available for preload in the days before launch. Keep the card attached to your account valid through November, or the order can fail quietly.

How many people have pre-ordered

Take-Two has not published pre-order numbers, and neither has Rockstar. Store chart positions show the game sitting at the top of the best-seller lists, which tells you it is selling, not how much. Every specific figure in circulation is somebody's model. When an official number appears in an earnings call, it will be on our news page within the hour.

Before launch night

Clear storage space early. The install size has never been announced, the often quoted 150 GB is a community estimate, and deleting three other games at 11pm on release night is a poor use of the evening. If you want the full picture of what your console will be asked to do, the system requirements page collects what is known and labels what is not.

GTA 6 pre-order FAQ

Quick answers

Rockstar announced pre-orders in a Newswire post on June 18, 2026, and the store pages started taking orders on June 25, 2026. They have been open since.

On the PlayStation Store for PS5 and on the Xbox Store for Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC pre-order, because a PC version has not been announced.

The full game plus additional digital content, for $99.99 against $79.99 for Standard. The exact item list is printed on the store page for your account and region, and that page is the source worth trusting.

It is the pre-order bonus attached to the Standard Edition for orders placed by November 20, and it is included with the Ultimate Edition. Rockstar has not detailed every item in it.

No. The game ships as a digital download on both consoles, so there is no disc, no case and no retail box.

Cancellation and refund terms are set by Sony and Microsoft, not by Rockstar, and both stores publish their own rules for pre-orders placed before release. Read the terms linked on the checkout page before you pay.

Take-Two has not published a number. Any pre-order chart you see is an estimate built from store chart positions, not a company figure.
