GTA 6 is not compatible with the PS4. Rockstar confirmed the game launches November 19, 2026, only on PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PS4 version, and none has been announced or hinted at.
This is a deliberate break from the PS4-era. Grand Theft Auto V originally hit PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, then came to PS4 and Xbox One a year later, and eventually PC in April 2015. Rockstar is not repeating that pattern for GTA 6. The game is built for current-gen hardware only, with no physical disc at all, so even a PS4 copy wouldn’t exist to buy.
If you’re on PS4, your only path to GTA 6 is upgrading to a PS5 or PS5 Pro. The PS5 Digital Edition is the cheapest option, though you’ll need the $79.99 standard price or $99.99 Ultimate for the game itself. Preorders opened June 25, 2026, with the Vintage Vice City Pack bonus for standard preorders before November 20.
There is no word on a PC version either. Rockstar and Take-Two have not dated or announced one, so don’t expect a PS4 port anytime soon, or ever.
