The rumored 2028 delay for GTA 6 is unfounded. Rockstar currently has the game dated for November 19, 2026, worldwide. That date is listed in the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store preorder pages, and Rockstar has not changed it since the last delay announcement in late 2025.
The game had two delays total. The original 2025 window from Trailer 1 was moved to May 26, 2026, then pushed again to November 19, 2026, which is the release date Rockstar has confirmed. That second delay was announced in Rockstar’s Newswire. Since then, no new postponement has been confirmed by Rockstar or publisher Take-Two.
A 2028 release is not something any official source has mentioned. You may see fan speculation or fake poster images online, but none of that is grounded in studio statements. The only confirmed platforms at launch are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version remains unannounced, so any 2028 rumor tied to a PC port is also unconfirmed.
For now, the only date you should trust is November 19, 2026. Preorders opened on June 25, 2026, and the Standard edition costs $79.99 digitally. There is no physical disc.
