Analysts have floated first-year revenue estimates of $3 billion to $4 billion, based on pre-order momentum and the $79.99 price point. For comparison, GTA V cleared $1 billion in its first three days in 2013. Wedbush Securities projects $3.5 billion in calendar 2027, while some bullish forecasts hit $4 billion. Take-Two has not given a number, only calling the launch “the most anticipated entertainment release of the year.”
Those figures assume the 19 November 2026 launch sells through a large installed base of PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, which had roughly 120 million combined units by mid-2026. Digital-only release removes disc margins but also cuts production costs. The $99.99 Ultimate edition adds a higher average revenue per user.
No one outside Rockstar knows the real internal target. Treat any specific projection as an estimate, not a fact. The only confirmed figure is the $79.99 starting price, with pre-orders open since June 25, 2026.
