Rockstar officially moved the release date to November 19, 2026, after two delays. The original 2025 window from Trailer 1 was pushed to May 26, 2026, then to the current November date, which you can check on the release date page. That date is firm enough to plan holidays around things like preorders opened on June 25, 2026, and both store pages list November 19 as the release day.
The game launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, including PS5 Pro. There is no physical disc, only digital. PC has no announced release date or version yet, so if you are on PC, expect a later announcement, likely after the console launch, but nothing is confirmed.
The release lineup is Standard for $79.99 and Ultimate for $99.99. Preordering the Standard before November 20 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, and PS Store preorders add a month of GTA+. A 26-minute gameplay video called “An Extended Look” dropped on August 27, 2026, giving the clearest look yet. It is single-player only; no online mode has been announced, despite talk of “GTA Online 2.”
