Rockstar has not said why GTA 6 is skipping PC, but the pattern is clear. Grand Theft Auto V reached PC 19 months after its console launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2 took 13 months. The studio treats consoles as the primary market and PC as a later port, not a launch platform.
For GTA 6, the situation is more extreme. The game launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar and Take-Two have not announced a PC version, let alone a date or window. Nothing about a 2027 PC release has been confirmed, so any specific timing is speculation.
Why the gap? Consoles offer a fixed hardware target, which makes optimization and quality control simpler. They also drive the biggest day-one sales and partnership deals with Sony and Microsoft. PC ports require extra work on scalability, drivers, and anti-cheat for online modes, and Rockstar has never treated that as a launch priority.
Until Rockstar says otherwise, expect the PC version to come later, if at all. The official stance is simply that none has been announced.
