Grand Theft Auto VI will not be on Game Pass on day one. Rockstar Games has never put a mainline GTA title on a subscription service at launch, and GTA VI is no exception. The game is a $79.99 Standard or $99.99 Ultimate digital purchase on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no physical disc.
Microsoft’s Game Pass deals for major third-party releases usually surface months or years after launch, and only if the publisher signs on. Rockstar has not announced any subscription partnership for GTA VI. The only pre-order perk tied to a service is one month of GTA+ for PlayStation Store pre-orders, which is Rockstar’s own subscription, not Game Pass.
Expect GTA VI to stay pay-to-play for the foreseeable future. GTA V, which launched in 2013, took years to appear on Xbox Game Pass, and even then it was the older version, not the expanded edition. If a Game Pass deal ever happens, it will likely be well after the game’s first year on sale.
