Will GTA 6 work on Xbox series s?

Short answer

Yes, GTA 6 will run on Xbox Series S, but Rockstar hasn't detailed resolution or performance targets for that console yet.

Updated Platforms

Xbox Series S is a supported platform for Grand Theft Auto VI at launch. The game launches November 19, 2026, on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, alongside PS5, as listed on the platforms page. Preorders opened June 25, 2026, and the store pages list both Xbox consoles as targets.

Rockstar has not confirmed resolution, frame rate, or performance mode on Series S. That console typically runs current-gen games at 1440p or lower, with 30 fps as a common target for heavier titles. GTA 6 is built on a large open world, so expect Visuals and Performance options if they exist to lean toward 30 fps on the smaller Series S.

Keep in mind the physical disc is gone, and the game requires a digital purchase. The $79.99 Standard Edition and $99.99 Ultimate Edition are your only choices. No demo or beta has been announced for Series S specifically. If Rockstar shares technical specs before launch, we will update this page.
