Sony and Rockstar have created two limited-edition DualSense controllers for Grand Theft Auto VI. The white version interprets Vice City through daylight, pale sand and pastel color, while the black model uses the city’s night-time neon as its reference. Both have a color-shifting finish, molded palm-tree details and official game branding. Pre-orders opened on September 10, and the controllers are scheduled to launch with GTA VI on November 19 at a recommended price of 84.99 dollars, 84.99 euros or 74.99 pounds, depending on the market.

The two designs describe different times of day

The white controller is not simply the black version with a lighter shell. Its palette is intended to recall the coast at daybreak, with bright surfaces and softer color transitions. The black edition focuses on nightlife and lets the shifting finish resemble neon against a dark base. The pair therefore offers two readings of the same location rather than assigning one design to Jason and the other to Lucia.

This distinction matters for a licensed device. A large printed logo would identify the game, but it would not communicate much about its setting. The palm-tree texture and changing color use recognizable elements without covering every panel in character art. Players can still see the GTA VI connection when the controller is held at a normal angle instead of displayed only as a collector object.

Availability is not identical in every region

The white edition is planned for participating retailers and PlayStation Direct in supported countries. The black version has a narrower route, with PlayStation Direct exclusivity where that store operates and selected retailers elsewhere. Exact release timing can vary by country. Buyers should therefore check the regional store rather than assume that a global announcement guarantees both colors at the same local retailer.

The controllers are described as limited in quantity. That phrase confirms scarcity but does not provide a production total. It is sensible to separate official availability from resale claims. A listing at a much higher price does not prove that retail stock has ended everywhere, and a buyer should verify the seller, warranty and region before paying for an imported unit.

The hardware functions remain standard DualSense features

Grand Theft Auto VI will use haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to respond to actions in Jason and Lucia’s story. The limited controllers do not advertise exclusive controls that are absent from an ordinary DualSense. Their main difference is the physical finish and molded detail. This is useful clarity for a player choosing between a collectible design and a standard controller already owned.

Haptic feedback is most effective when different surfaces, vehicles and impacts produce recognizable patterns. Adaptive trigger resistance can distinguish acceleration, braking or weapon actions if developers use it consistently. Those possibilities belong to the game’s PlayStation 5 implementation, not only to these two shells. The special editions offer the same functional platform in a visual design tied to Vice City.

Launch-day delivery depends on where the controller is purchased

PlayStation Direct advertises free launch-day delivery for eligible pre-orders in supported regions. Eligibility, address and stock still need confirmation during checkout. A retailer may use a different dispatch schedule, especially where the local release date varies. Anyone planning to begin the game with the new controller should avoid treating an estimated arrival window as a guarantee.

The November 19 launch aligns the hardware with GTA VI on PlayStation 5. That timing makes the controller part of the release-day presentation, but it also concentrates demand. Existing DualSense controllers remain compatible, so the special design is optional. The sensible purchase reason is appreciation of the finish and the setting, not a belief that the game requires this model.

Simple colors and palm-tree details represent Vice City

Vice City is associated with strong color, signs and a crowded visual identity. Translating all of that onto a small controller could easily become noisy. The announced designs choose a background, shifting color and tactile palm trees instead. The white and black bases let the same detail feel different without changing the familiar control layout.

The result will ultimately depend on how the finish looks under ordinary light and how the molded areas feel after long use. Official images show the intended color, but a reflective surface can change significantly in person. The two models are best understood as paired interpretations of GTA VI’s location, with normal DualSense functionality and a limited retail path rather than a new hardware generation.
