GTA 6 will not be on PS6 at launch. The game releases November 19, 2026 exclusively for PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced any PS6 version, and Sony hasn’t even confirmed a PS6 exists publicly. Any talk of a PS6 release is pure speculation.
Historically, Rockstar has released games on the current generation at launch, with later ports to newer hardware. GTA V, for example, got PS4 and Xbox One versions a year after its PS3 and Xbox 360 debut, then another upgrade for PS5 and Series X|S in 2022. A similar pattern could happen with GTA 6 on a future console, but nothing is official.
If you’re deciding whether to buy a PS5 now, note that the game is digital-only, costs $79.99 for the Standard edition, and has no PC version announced. The PS5 Pro exists, but Rockstar hasn’t confirmed any 60 fps performance mode for it. For now, the only guaranteed way to play GTA 6 is on a current-gen console.
