Nothing has been announced for either Switch model. No listing, no teaser, no mention in any Rockstar communication about the game.
Reading the silence correctly
Unannounced is not the same as impossible, and it is also not the same as coming later. Rockstar’s Nintendo history is thin and consists mostly of remasters - the GTA trilogy collection reached Switch years after its source material, not alongside a new flagship. Nothing in that pattern suggests a same-generation port of a game built around PS5-class streaming.
The hardware question
Switch 2 is a genuine step up from the original, but the gap that matters here is not raw horsepower alone. GTA 6 is being built against a memory budget and a storage throughput that current-gen consoles guarantee. A handheld designed to a battery budget makes different guarantees. A port would mean a smaller, simpler world, and Rockstar has historically preferred not to ship that version at all.
What Nintendo owners actually get
Older Grand Theft Auto games, in remastered form, and that is the realistic ceiling for the foreseeable future. Nothing about that catalogue arrangement implies anything for a new release built on a different technical baseline.
What would change the picture
Only an announcement from Rockstar. Not a retailer database entry, not a placeholder box art image, not an interview quote about admiring Nintendo hardware. Fake Switch listings for unreleased games appear constantly and are one of the more reliable ways to spot a low-effort site.
