Tommy Vercetti is not confirmed for Grand Theft Auto 6. As of September 1, 2026, neither trailer, the 27-minute Extended Look, nor any official Rockstar Newswire post shows or names him. The game is set in Leonida, a fictionalized Florida, which naturally invites comparisons to Vice City, but that is speculation, not fact.
Confirmed facts about Tommy
The confirmed cast is Lucia and Jason, the two playable protagonists revealed in Trailer 1 and Trailer 2. Rockstar has not announced any legacy characters. GTA 5 brought back characters like Ned Luke’s Michael in a different state, but that game had explicit callbacks. GTA 6 marketing has none so far.
Ray Liotta, who voiced Tommy, died in May 2022. A return would require recasting or an AI voice replica, neither of which Rockstar has mentioned. The company has used AI for some NPC chatter in GTA Online, but no official statement covers Tommy.
Expect fan theories to stay theories. If a cameo existed, the Extended Look would have been the place to tease it. It does not. Treat any report claiming Tommy appears as a rumour until Rockstar confirms otherwise.
