How big is the GTA 6 map?

Short answer

Rockstar has not confirmed the size of the GTA 6 map. Leaks and community estimates put it at roughly two times Vice City, but no official numbers or km² exist.

Updated Map

Rockstar has never published an official size for the GTA 6 map. No square kilometers, no comparison to Vice City, no in-game measurements. Anything you see quoted as a definitive area is a community estimate or a leak-based guess.

What is known comes from the two trailers and the 26-minute Extended Look from August 27, 2026. They show a return to Vice City and Leonida, modelled on Miami and Florida, with dense urban blocks, swamps, beaches and a rural interior crossed by highways. The playable area looks larger than Grand Theft Auto V’s Los Santos and Blaine County, but that is an impression from footage, not a confirmed figure.

What the reports say

  • Leaks from 2022 (not confirmed) pointed to a map roughly twice the size of GTA V, but Rockstar never acknowledged them.
  • Community analysis of trailer geography suggests a coastline and interior that would need about 80 to 100 square kilometers to fit, but that number has no official source.
  • Some later reports talk about a map that grows over time, with new islands added through story missions, which would change the total area depending on where you measure.

Until Rockstar publishes a map diagram or the game ships on November 19, 2026, treat every size claim as speculative. The only safe statement is that it will be bigger than GTA V, which itself is not confirmed.
