Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 ships as a single-player title with no online mode included at its November 19, 2026 launch. Rockstar has not announced any online or multiplayer component for the title. All talk of “GTA Online 2” or a separate multiplayer mode is speculation, not fact.
What we know
Rockstar’s official store listings for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S describe the game as a single-player experience. There is no mention of an online mode, battle pass, or dedicated servers in any official material from the June 18, 2026 Newswire post or the August 27, 2026 “An Extended Look” video.
Rockstar did acquire Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, in 2023. That acquisition is real, but no mod tools or server infrastructure for GTA 6 have been announced. If a multiplayer mode is planned for later, Rockstar has not said so publicly.
For now, expect GTA 6 to be a purely offline story experience at launch. Any claims about a co-op campaign, GTA Online integration, or a standalone online mode are unconfirmed rumors. The only certain online feature is GTA+, the subscription bonus tied to PlayStation 5 preorders, which grants a month of access to the existing GTA Online in GTA 5, not anything in GTA 6 itself.
