GTA 6 will not release with an online mode. Rockstar has confirmed that the game launches November 19, 2026 as a single-player experience on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no announced GTA Online 2 or any standalone multiplayer component tied to GTA 6, neither at launch nor as a future update.
Rockstar did acquire Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, back in 2023, but that has not led to any announced modding or server tools for GTA 6. Any talk of “GTA Online 2” or a separate online release window is pure speculation, not backed by official statements or store listings.
If you want multiplayer in the GTA universe on current consoles, GTA Online for GTA V remains the only option, and it runs separately from GTA 6. Expect Rockstar to say something about online only after the single-player game is out, if they ever do. For now, treat GTA 6 as strictly a single-player title.
